A dream feed is a feed you offer a baby while they are still asleep or very drowsy, usually late in the evening just before you go to bed. Instead of waiting for the baby to wake hungry at midnight, you top them up first so that first long waking arrives later.

The appeal is obvious for tired parents: shift the baby's longest stretch of sleep so it overlaps with yours. It genuinely helps some babies and does very little for others, so it is best treated as an experiment you keep only if it works.

With twins, the dream feed doubles as a chance to feed both babies together and line them up for one shared block of sleep. Keep both twins supported and safe during the feed, and never prop a bottle and leave.
